Colorado Counselor Training

We offer all BHA approved required Certified Addiction Counselor courses.

It is Colorado Counselor Training’s mission to facilitate the growth and development of Colorado’s Addiction Counselors and Mental Health Professionals by providing effective, affordable and accessible training. Colorado Counselor Training provides online CAC courses along with in person skills courses with the emphasis on acquisition and application of the interpersonal skills necessary to better interact with and deliver treatment to those who struggle with substance use issues.

Kim Bappe, LCSW, LAC

Ms. Bappe holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Denver and has worked in the Human Services field for 33 years in a variety of settings, most of these focused on treating youth with co-occurring disorders and their families. She has been a clinical supervisor in several settings including Psychiatric Hospitalization, Addiction Treatment, and Behavioral Health. Ms. Bappe has been a trainer for 21 years in topic areas such as crisis management, de-escalation techniques, experiential therapy, gender specific programming, and substance abuse treatment. She has taught Certified Addiction Counselor required by the State of Colorado for the past 19 years. Ms. Bappe owns and operates Colorado Counselor Training providing all CAC courses required by the Office of Behavioral Health.

Melissa Jeffryes, LPC, LAC

Ms. Jeffryes holds a Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and has worked in the field of Behavioral Health for the past 23 years. She has experience working with individuals facing a variety of issues including substance use, anxiety, depression, mood disorders and other issues associated with adolescence. As a Psychotherapist, Ms. Jeffryes enjoys facilitating groups and working with adolescents, adults and families struggling with an array of difficulties. When working with clients, she utilizes a client-centered collaborative approach. She is also very experienced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical behavioral Therapy models. Ms. Jeffryes has been teaching Certified Addiction classes since 2003.
