Great opportunity for CAC Counselors who work with Adolescent on an outpatient basis!
Dear Treatment Counselors,
Please see the announcement below.
The organizers (see information below) have received a handful of inquiries from counselors in Colorado, Montana, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming and a few of them have become participants. They are trying to wrap up recruitment soon and are hoping to get some more participants from our region and have all of our states represented! Check it out and let them know if you are interested.
Thank you for your time!

Dear ATTC,
We think your contacts may be particularly interested in this NIDA-funded opportunity for free training and support via an advanced web-based system. Could you please notify your contacts about this opportunity at your earliest convenience? Our final month of recruitment is coming up soon.
We have been awarded a NIDA-funded study on Contingency Management for adolescents and their families (outpatient treatment for substance use problems). This study focuses only on the counselors (not recruiting youth or families) and covers the entire cost of a web-based training and support system for agencies (or independent counselors) that participate in the study. There are many CEUs provided, as well.
- This is a national study with 150 counselors so we are reaching out to multiple states around the U.S. So far we have locations in 10 states. We are are not limited by geography.
- The funding provides free training and ongoing consultation for all providers who participate. Many of the participating sites have stated that they are looking forward to using this opportunity to help them kick-start specialized programming for adolescents. They see this as a chance to “pilot” this evidence-based addictions treatment model at no cost to them for 2 years while being able to access the outcome data to determine the impact on their community. Counselors may continue to treat other populations and problems in addition to adolescent substance abuse.
- If you wish to participate in the study we will need a brief form completed and will plan your study start date as soon as possible. There is no limit to the number of counselors or sites you can have in the study, although each counselor who volunteers for the study must meet the basic requirements for the study and be willing and able to use the CM interventions to treat adolescent substance abuse for the duration of the study.
Info about the study is at this website or you can contact Jaime (contact info below): https://trainingsupportsystem.com/contingency-management-study-participation
